このたびProQuest社は、Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS®) が作成する以下のデータベースの提供を2012年９月末をもって終了することになりましたのでお知らせします。対象となりますデータベースは、CA Search® (File 399, 308-314)、Chemsearch™ (File 398)および、Chemical Industry Notes (File 19) で、これらのファイルは、2012年10月1日以降Dialogサービスでは利用できなくなりますのでご注意ください。

ProQuest社は、長年にわたり化学および科学技術情報の主要な検索サービスの提供元としての役割を担ってまいりましたが、今後もRANK、MAPをはじめ、近接演算子等主要な検索機能のパイオニアであるDialogサービスを多岐の分野にわたる広範なデータベースコレクションによるマルチファイル検索が可能なサービスとして強化していく予定です。

また、新しい「ProQuest Dialogサービス」におきましては、現行Dialogサービスの精密な検索機能を継続して提供してまいります。また、2013年度以降、科学・技術・特許・ニュースコレクションをさらに拡大し、化学分野についても代替となる権威ある情報源を追加していく計画です。CASのファイルをご利用いただいておりますお客様にはご不便をおかけしますが、何卒ご了承いただきますようお願い申し上げます。

Dear Customer,

I am writing to inform you that ProQuest will cease distribution of the databases provided by Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS®). As such, CA Search®, ChemSearch™ and Chemical Industry Notes will no longer be offered on the Dialog® service as of October 1, 2012. We are providing this notification to you well in advance so that there is time to help you plan for the change.

We are proud of our role as a major search service provider for chemical and scientific literature. The Dialog service pioneered key features, including RANK, MAP and subfield proximity search, to enhance retrieval of chemical information across our broad, multidisciplinary collection of databases. We will continue to provide such precision search capabilities on Dialog and on the new ProQuest Dialog? service, and to seek out new authoritative sources to expand our scientific, technical, patent and news collections.

Your account manager will be in touch with you in the event that this change will have a material impact on your existing Dialog contract or commitment level.
